| dc.description.abstracten | The present work intends to analyze the indigenous representation in literature (fictional and didactic), with the intention of building a "guide" to support the teaching of History among Brazilian public school students. It is based on historiographical research that intends to recover the trajectory of the image of the indigenous people, either through romantic literature or through didactic material produced during the 19th century, in an attempt to investigate how the image of the indigenous peoples was presented by textbooks in the last two centuries. We intend to problematize the crystallization suffered by the image of the indigenous people who, from savage to oppressed, had little place to speak. Through a critical reading of children's books produced by indigenous authors in contemporary times, we seek to demonstrate that the journey of the Brazilian indigenous peoples can and should be told by the very subjects that made their History. This research work believes that the lines of literature are, in their own way, a competent instrument to preserve a more fair cultural memory, establishing themselves as another form of inscription of the indigenous peoples in the History of Brazil. | pt_BR |

| pt_BR |
